My Story

Despite having coached many successful competitors as a school coach, I first entered the world of private coaching when I hired a private coach for my son. I looked for help–because as you know if you’re raising a teen– teens are particularly resistant to suggestions from the people who love them the most. Somehow, we become dumber as they become older (Rest assured that you will become smart again when your kid grows up, or at least I did.)

As my son Thomas met with his private coach, I often listened as the coach told him the exact same thing I had. But because the coach was an expert who was not his mother, the advice was received and acted on instead of being met with eye rolls.

But the benefits extended beyond a state championship. As the years from 6th grade to senior year rolled quickly by, I watched Thomas develop a special relationship with his coach that I could never fulfill; after all, kids need lots of loving adults in their lives. Seeing that private coaching was about more than competitive success, when both of my kids graduated and I had more time, I decided that I would like to help kids by becoming a private coach.
